Our Team


Any Baby Can employs nearly 100 staff including master’s and bachelor’s level social workers, registered nurses, nutritionists, physical and occupational therapists, speech pathologists, counselors and licensed psychotherapists. Any Baby Can places high importance on providing culturally appropriate services. Two thirds of staff are bilingual; 46% are Hispanic and 7% are African-American.

Agency Leadership


Executive Director, Ellen Balthazar
Ellen Balthazar joined Any Baby Can as Executive Director in 2005 after a 25 year career in corporate marketing and community volunteerism. Prior to serving at Any Baby Can, Ellen was a marketing consultant, as well as a marketing executive for PepsiCo, Frito-Lay and Procter & Gamble. Ellen was elected to the Eanes Independent School District (EISD) Board of Trustees in 2001 and continues to serve the community in that capacity. Currently, Ellen serves on a number of community coalitions and task forces in our community, including United Way’s Success by 6, the Basic Needs Coalition, Children’s Optimal Health, the E3 Alliance (Education Equals Economics) and One Voice Central Texas. Chief Financial Officer, Ana Martinez
Ana Martinez has served as the Chief Financial Officer for Any Baby Can since 2006. Ana has more than 26 years of professional experience in various aspects of accounting functions and executive level management, with more than 22 years experience in non-profit organizations. Her experience includes fiscal management of federal, state and local funding; creation of operating reserve funds; establishing accounting systems and software conversion; and extensive audit experience. Chief Development Officer, Marie Felan
Marie began working in the social services field providing supportive housing services for homeless families, homeless mentally ill individuals, and women served in HUD’s Section 8 Housing Program in Amarillo, TX nearly 20 years ago. In 1998, she began working as a Public Relations Director and Grants Director in the private non-profit sector at a comprehensive family services organization before moving to Austin in 2002. Upon moving to Austin, Marie began work in development at the statewide and national level at the Texas Council on Family Violence (TCFV) and National Domestic Violence Hotline where she implemented national and regional corporate campaigns and events as well as grant writing. As a member of the Development Team at TCFV, Marie provided annual grants training at the statewide conference of domestic violence providers. Marie has been with Any Baby Can since 2006. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Texas. Contact Marie


Early Childhood Intervention Director, Alexandra Alfau
Alexandra Alfau has served as the Director of Any Baby Can Early Childhood Intervention (ECI), the agency’s largest program, since 1994. Alexandra is a physical therapist by trade and has worked in the ECI Program since 1988. Alexandra has had substantial influence on ECI during her tenure at the agency. Her experience includes client outreach and assessment, home visitation, implementation of program activities, supervision of 30+ employees, managing compliance standards, collaboration with community agencies, medical billing strategies and program advocacy. Alexandra also serves as a child development program consultant for UNICEF in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Contact Alex
