Nurse Family Partnership (NFP)
NFP helps low income, first-time mothers and their children with registered nurses serving as home visitors. Services begin prenatally and continue with child development education until the child is two years old. NFP home visitors work with families to achieve three main goals:
- Improve pregnancy outcomes by helping women engage in good preventive health practices.
- Improve child health and development by helping parents provide responsible and competent care.
- Improve the economic self-sufficiency of the family by helping parents develop a vision for their own future, plan future pregnancies, continue their education and find work. NFP premiered in Central Texas as an Any Baby Can Program in the fall of 2008.
