Any Baby Can Child and Family Resource Center provides support for families caring for a child with special needs, therapies and support for children with, or at-risk for developmental delays, prenatal education to at-risk pregnant women, and childbirth, parenting and literacy programs for the community in general through the following programs.

All services and materials are available in English and Spanish

TANDEM

The idea for the Tandem Teen Prenatal & Parenting Program began soon after People's Community Clinic began offering a specialized Teen Prenatal Clinic in December 1996 and the complexity of issues facing this high risk population became more obvious. Family, school, vocational, financial, social, and mental health issues needed to be addressed, as well as the medical ones, if these teens were to become successful, healthy parents and individuals. In an effort to better access and coordinate comprehensive services for their teen prenatal and parent clients, PCC staff met with Any Baby Can and representatives from other community agencies serving teen parents and began exploring further collaborative efforts. Following a community meeting, hosted by St. David's, and almost a year of interagency planning, Tandem began offering services to pregnant and parenting teens through the Clinic in February 1998.

Prenatal Education Program

Sponsored by Dell

The Prenatal Education Program (PEP) works with pregnant teens to help reduce the risk of low birth weight, to ensure that babies are born healthy, and that teen parents have the skills and resources to parent effectively.  Prenatal educators visit pregnant teens in their homes and schools to talk about pregnancy, labor and delivery, nutrition, and parenting skills.  Prenatal educators also help pregnant teens identify their long-term goals and work toward achieving those goals with referrals to community resources such as educational and employment programs, child care resources, counseling, and basic needs services.  Generally, services are provided until the baby is two months old.
