Luau on the Lake | September 2004

2004 Marketing recap ("right" click and "save target as")

The first-annual Luau on the Lake held at Carlos'n Charlie's on September 13, 2003 was a success raising over $50,000 for Any Baby Can. The lakeside restaurant was transformed into an authentic Hawaiian Island beach paradise and will now begin transforming the lives of Austin children with special needs through Any Baby Can services.

Among generous sponsors and donors, the world cuisine was donated by Carlos’n Charlie’s, Rocco’s Grill, Iron Cactus, Roy’s Austin, Cool River Café, and Truluck’s and the authentic Polynesian revue was performed by Austin-based Tropical Productions.

"The food was amazing. I loved the Bella Baci (Italian Kisses) from Rocco's and the roasted whole pig from Cool River Café, said Nancy Harris, Vice-President of Marketing, Forgent Networks.

“This event is fueled out of a desire to come together and reach out to the families and children in the Austin-area who need our help," said Monica Pottorff, Luau on the Lake Committee Chair. "All of our sponsors and committee members have gone the extra mile to make this event a success. I encourage everyone to find their own way to give back to the community, whether financially or through a gift of your time."
