LCRA goes "Back to School"

A big thank you to the wonderful people at LCRA who took time out of their busy day to go school shopping for over 300 families with children ranging in grades K-5. This is the second year that The LCRA Corporate Business Development Team has helped out with this important project.

JoEllen Peterman, LCRA employee stated, “The LCRA Corporate Business Development Team has a practice of doing a volunteer activity as a team at least twice yearly. It is part team building and part fun. The LCRA United Charities Fund provides the funding for the supplies and we supply the elbow grease for shopping, sorting and bagging. This gives us a chance to see how the LCRA United Charities money is spent and provides us with a great opportunity to work with each other on a fun, less stressful project than we usually do.”

LCRA employees leave Any Baby Can with a great feeling for having helped the kids who receive these supplies as well as the knowledge that they have freed up some time for the professional service providers at Any Baby Can to provide direct care to the families rather than sorting and bagging supplies.

“We can't provide the professional services that you do, but we can help with other activities so you have more time to do the meaningful work you do. We think Any Baby Can is a great organization and we look forward to being involved as volunteers in the future,” said JoEllen Peterman.
