Any Baby Can has 5 programs to serve the Austin community. Below are brief descriptions of each program, eligibility requirements and examples of situations you might be facing. For more information on any of our programs, please contact us at info@abcaus.org or 512-454-3743.

Healthy and Fair Start Program

The Heathly and Fair Start Program works side by side with families by teaching parenting skills, english as a second launguage, child development, tutoring, home saftey, nutrition, and providing family support and counseling.

"My Child is under 5 years of age, is not enrolled in any other educational program, and I wonder about her/his development."

"I would like information on toilet training, child safety, and teaching my child so he/she is ready for school."

"My babies are crying all the time and I don't know what to do."

"I live in the Austin area (zip codes 78702, 78721, 78723, 78741, or 78744) and need guidance on making my home safe for my child."

(Other zip codes also served, but priority is given to areas above)

(ABC Staff will complete individualized assessments of child development, parenting skills, home safety, preventive health care, and child nutrition to determine needs and develop a service plan with family.)

Early Childhood Intervention Program

The ECI program works with children under 3 with developmental delays, medical conditions, or a-typical development and their families to help these children grow and learn like other children their age.

"My Child is over 18 months old and is not walking."

"My Child is over 9 months old and is not supporting his/her head."

"My Child is over 10 months old and is not sitting up by him/herself."

"My Child is over 22 months old and can only say 5 words"

 "I reside in one of the following zip codes and am concerned about the developmental progress of my child: 78610, 78612, 78617, 78702, 78704, 78719, 78721, 78725, 78741, 78742, 78744, or 78747."

(ABC Staff will complete individualized assessments of child development to determine needs and develop service plan with family.)

Prenatal Education Program (PEP)

The Prenatal Education Program (PEP) works with pregnant teens to help reduce the risk of low birth weight, to ensure that babies are born healthy, and that teen parents have the skills and resources to parent effectively. 

“I’m a teenager and just found out I’m pregnant.  I need information about what to expect during the pregnancy and birth.”

“I’m going to have a baby, but my high school does not have a daycare or program for parents.  I need help finding child care to stay in school.”

“My teenage daughter is going to be a mother.  I want her to get lots of support and information about pregnancy and parenting.”


Comprehensive Advocacy and Resources for Empowerment (CARE)

Comprehensive family support for families caring for a child through age 12 with chronic illness or development delays.

"My child has a diagnosed medical condition that effects his or her development and daily activities."

"I need help with finding a doctor, a specialist, health care coverage, school services, childcare, or therapies for my child."

"I live in Travis or Williamson county and need to find parent support and someone to talk to."

(ABC Staff will complete individualized assessments of child development to determine needs and develop service plan with family.)

Candlelighter's Childhood Cancer Foundation

Candlelighter's serves children with cancer and their families by providing comprehensive emotional, physical, medical and social support so that no family goes through their journey with cancer alone. Candlelighter's also serves children with similar blood disorders.

"My child has just been diagnosed with cancer or a similar blood disease."

"Our family needs help getting through the trials of cancer."

"I have recently lost a child to cancer."

 "I don't meet the requirements to be eligible for any of ABC's programs, but need information on parenting, childbirth, childcare, or literacy."


ABC offers the following classes to anyone, including those who do not meet eligibility requirements for the programs listed above.

Parenting education classes, English and Spanish

Childbirth education classes, English and Spanish ($10 registration per couple for English childbirth classes)

Childcare provider training, English

Family literacy tutoring, English and Spanish
